Our trip in
the Netherlands
STUDENTS FROM GREECE
1st day
The kids from
the other countries were waiting us. We had dinner and then we played some
traditional games of Netherlands with the others. The first day, after having
breakfast, we visited a historic city, Brenda. There, we visited a protestant
church and we walked the boardwalks with the shops. After, because it was cold,
we drank hot tea in a café. An hour later we went back to the guest house.
2nd day
We
woke up at six at o’ clock because we had to present our work. After having
breakfast, the travel bus transported us to Cambreur College where we stayed
till 4 o’ clock. In addition to that, we learned about the rules of that
school. Moreover, we attended a biology class. After that, we went back to the
guest house and we had some free time. We had dinner and then we continued the
presentations. Finally, we went to bed.
3rd day
The next day we visited Cambreur College. Although it
was the second time we had been there, we hadn’t get used to it yet. We entered
one of the buildings where we didn’t spend too much time. We learnt how to use
e-twining space and we answered some questions. After we were done we went to a
wonderful park which named “De efteling”. First of all we took lots of pictures
and then we decided to do as many activities as possible. We did numerous
activities including riding rollercoasters, visiting Aladdin’s house and
watching a play. We all had so much fun the best thing was Laura’s company. We
went back to the guest house and after having some free time we watched a film
and played a game with the other students. Finally, we went straight to bed.
6th day
The 5th day started with us having
breakfast and then visiting Amsterdam which despite the fact that it is a bid
city it isn’t as crowded as Athens. Soon we started exploring the city, our
first stop was the channels which is a characteristic feature of this country.
The boat we used was equipped with a certain advice which had recorded
information about the channels themselves and many buildings including their
history and architecture. Then we were given the opportunity to visit the
famous museum of Vincent Van Gogh who happens to be Tina’s favorite painter and
whom she’s admired most of her life not only for his work but also for the fact
that he turned his depression into something so beautiful that inspired a lot
of people. After our visit to the museum we went back to the guest house were
we had some free time followed by dinner. Since it was our last night in the
Netherlands our teachers divided us in three teams and we were asked to write
down what we gained from this trip. In addition, we made some t-shirts in which
we expressed our thoughts about every single one of the students before and
after meeting them. Last but least, we had a small party and after that we got
together and watched a thriller movie. Unfortunately, the Spanish students had
to leave a little after midnight so we said goodbye and slept the rest of the
night through.
6th day
The next day we woke up in a bad mood because it would
be our last night in the Netherlands. After preparing our suitcases, we had
breakfast. Later, we said goodbye to the rest of the kids and we made for the
airport, where we bought some souvenirs. Then, we entered the plane knowing
that we would miss this country.
